'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith renews clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he recalls the nail-biting dying seconds of his team's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The encounter wrapped up with Galbraith picking up a spectator's eyewear after the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful shot from distance, and his teammate immediately hammered in the loose ball before charging toward the home end to revel in the moment, with fans congregating around the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The result completed an unbelievable comeback given the team had found themselves down 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. In the euphoria, there was some collateral damage. Galbraith explained, "There was a spectator shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory secured a upcoming match at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a team Galbraith ran close at the same stage of the FA Cup with the London side in February. Galbraith had an excellent perspective when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's long-range effort from about long distance going in via the bar and the Stefan Ortega. It seems unfair that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've given it to him for taking the effort on from that range," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before switching to right wing-back after the team changed tactics. That meant facing off against City's winger, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the player was among the opposition who praised the way the underdogs played positively.

Guardiola's System

"Physically they are outstanding but even the fundamentals and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they always find their target and they are adept at manage and slow down a game. You can believe you're doing well and then without warning they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be switched on every second of the game. It demands a resilient mindset and attention just to keep pace."

New Chapter

Swansea sought to acquire Galbraith in January and beat off competition to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a popular figure across two seasons at his former club and has swiftly done the same in Wales. At Orient he reunited with Richie Wellens, who four years ago gave Galbraith his first extended run in senior football on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a temporary move at lower division Salford City, before he permanently left Old Trafford.

Development Path

"I was probably a slightly green going into senior level. I think numerous professionals would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without much intensity. There's not many physical contests. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

Country Call-ups

His progress reflects that development for club and country, performing well for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has started the recent fixtures, including two matches encounters against a football powerhouse. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the ultimate compliment, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he handles the football and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Starting Out

This marks an incredible journey for the youngster from the local area in the Belfast suburb, just outside Belfast, who used to see his dad, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

The player's single match for United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the host city, where they featured on an artificial pitch and the venue ceiling was sealed owing to conditions of freezing cold. "It was a long trip and it was cold out there," he says, smiling. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and make an appearance at the end was incredible."

Moving On

How difficult was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he transferred from aged 16? "It was quite easy, because I got to the stage where I realized I wasn't going to make it at the top level. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I believed I needed to go my own route, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually working my way back up."

New Environment

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at late afternoon: a road rules assessment, another step towards getting on the road. Until recently to the local area, the 24-year-old was a regular in Swansea's dubbed fun bus, a minibus driven by academy staff, Pete and Howard, which transports players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include the Portuguese player, Ronald, the midfielder – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's nice to spend time with the lads but I'm aiming to be the next one out of the minibus and behind the wheel. His teammate likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Public Engagement

During his time at Leyton Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on London's Central line after commuting at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
